20 m to feet

Imagine you have a garden that is 20 meters long. If you wanted to know how long that is in feet, we can do a little bit of math!

In gardening, you might want to find out how many feet of space you have to plant flowers or vegetables. Since 1 meter is equal to approximately 3.28084 feet, we can find out how many feet are in 20 meters by using the equation:

$$
20 \text{ m} \times 3.28084 \text{ ft/m} = 65.6168 \text{ ft}
$$

So, 20 meters is almost 66 feet long!

This is handy to know because when you’re planting, you might measure your garden space in feet instead of meters.

Here are 7 objects that are exactly equal to 20 meters:

  1. The length of 7 adult giraffes standing in a line (about 2.75 m tall each).
  2. The height of a 5-story building, where each story is about 4 meters high.
  3. A large garden fence could be about 20 meters around, helping keep pets out!
  4. The length of a long swimming pool, which is typically about 20 meters for racing.
  5. The distance from the front of a school building to the playground in some neighborhoods.
  6. A little more than the length of four big pickup trucks parked nose to tail, if each is about 5 meters long.
  7. The width of a very large soccer field, which can be around 20 meters across in some parts.

Now you can impress your friends with how you know about sizes in both meters and feet!
